Emily Holsopple (UK) doubled winning both
the Women's Air Rifle event and the Women's
50m Rifle Event at the NJORC match at the
end of March.
The final week of the National Junior Olympic Shooting Championships
featured high scores and intense drama in Men’s and Women’s 10m
Air Pistol. Olympic Training Center Resident Athlete,
Will Brown (Twins Falls, Idaho), left little room for error. Brown shot for
1149 qualification points and sealed the deal with 100.4 points in the
final for a total of 1249.4 points. In his first NJOSC appearance,
Marshall Matters (Rapid City, S.D.) won the silver medal with 1110
qualification points and 96.4 points in the final to finish with 1206.4
points. Matters was also named to the National Junior Pistol Team.
The bronze medalist was Grant Adams of Manhattan, Kan., with an
even 1200 total points

The Women’s 10m Air Pistol final brought intense competition between Shelby Cammack
(Sturgis, S.D.) and Kylie Gagnon (Bozeman, Mont.). Gagnon entered the final with a six point
lead, but Cammack shot an outstanding 96.7 points in the final to tie Gagnon with 827.7 points.
With a sudden-death shoot-off, Cammack (pictured) clenched the victory with a 9.6 point shot to
Gagnon’s 8.2 point shot. Gagnon finished with the silver medal and 827.7+8.2 points. Cammack
was awarded a USA Shooting Team jacket and named to the National Junior Team. Taylor
Gallegos (Prosper, Texas) finished with 822.5 (730+92.5) points for the bronze medal.
